the Castle<\/strong>, the civic Tower of the XI century, the Dome<\/strong>, one of the most magnificent examples of the Romanesque-Gothic architecture of the Piedmont region; the palaces of Via Mameli<\/em>, are an elegant example of the Baroque-Casale style, which is recognizable in the Treville Palace<\/strong>, and the Synagogue<\/strong> in the famous Jewish ghetto.<\/p>\n The area of Casale Monferrato<\/strong> is characterized by a flat territory, where rice is mostly cultivated and presents a wonderful hill area, well-known for the production of fine and renowned wines, which is the location of large wineries and innovative agro-touristic initiatives.<\/p>\n The Casale area is also a historical industrial area; in the second half of the previous century, it wrote significant pages of the Italian industrial revolution in the Piedmont region and it was well-known in the cement sector.<\/p>\n The development of cultural, recreational and social activities in the city was favoured by important institutions like a rich library, the theatre, the museum and the Gipsoteca<\/em><\/strong>, a significant historic archive, as well as modern sport facilities.<\/p>\n It is known because it is considered an international capital city for jewellery<\/strong>; the majority of precious stones imported in Italy to produce jewels (more than 70%) arrive in Valenza; more than the 65% of the production is focused on the export towards more than 150 Countries of the world, manly United States, Japan, European Union, and the Middle East.<\/p>\n Together with Valenza, Monte Valenza<\/strong> is a very interesting location; it is a very welcoming village, with few inhabited houses but with a great historic identity. The historic centre of the village is the most interesting part, which is located at the top of the mount, with all newest villas downstream.<\/p>\n One aspect that makes Valenza a very nice town, a town submerged between hills and mountains, is the large spa complex, which stands out for its exclusivity and welcoming identity. Before visiting this spa complex, it is recommended visiting the city centre, where you will discover the jewels that Monte Valenza can offer. In the city centre of this little village, there is the Sant\u2019Eusebio<\/em> church<\/strong>, surrounded by trees in the little plaza, and adorned by nice fountains and colourful flowerbeds. Ancient farmsteads, medieval castles, powerful fortified towers, Romanesque parish churches, churches <\/strong>and abbeys <\/strong>of ancient times represent the immortal trace of humankind throughout the centuries. Three big rivers mark its borders (River Po, River Sesia, and River Ticino) together with a lot of canals, water flows, irrigation ditches, spring water and torrents that nourish a very luxuriant nature, with wide stretches of woods that surround the main water flows.<\/p>\n You must visit the formidable castle of Sartirana<\/strong>, a wonderful defensive structure, with a big fortified tower made up by different volumes: prism, cylinder and parallelepiped. One curious fact: the architect that designed this building, Bartolomeo Fioravanti, was one of the designers of the Kremlin in Moscow<\/strong> and the Sforza Castle in Milan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In the medieval town of Breme, you can visit the wonderful abbey<\/strong> with the underlying crypt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In Lomello<\/strong>, an ancient village, beloved by Langobardic kings<\/strong> and gives the name to all the territory, there is the beautiful medieval Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore<\/em><\/strong>, one of the most important examples of Romanesque-Lombard style. Yet at the beginning of the 80\u2019s, the need to preserve this forest pushed the institutions to transform them in a protective area, where you can travel back in time before the arrival of Romans and the recoveries<\/strong>, and find the origins of the territory.<\/p>\n The paths that have been recently reactivated are articulated through various habitats: the dense rushes and the willows, the irrigation ditches with the transparent water of springs, the luxuriant woods of black Alders. The castle of Vigevano arises in the highest point of the town; it was built by Luchino Visconti, lord of Milan, in the first half of the 1300\u2019s. During the Sforza time period, the castle was expanded and the rooms were frescoed; it became a sumptuous abode, which hosted the court for many stays. Then, the stable and the Dames Loggia (Loggia delle Dame<\/em>) were built; the latter was built for the duchess Beatrice d\u2019Este<\/strong>, the young wife of Ludovico il Moro, who died in her early twenties. Arcades were erected on the Falconiera<\/em> and on the bridge that connected it to the castle.<\/p>\n The Dome dedicated to Sant\u2019Ambrogio began its works in 1532, commissioned by Francesco Sforza, the son of Ludovico il Moro, on the design of Antonio da Lonate. The current Baroque fa\u00e7ade, which covers the previous one, were designed by the bishop Juan de Caramuel Lobkovitz and were built around 1680. Among all beautiful churches, the Dome with one of the biggest dome of Italy, and the Basilica of San Michele<\/em>, a masterpiece of the Romanesque-Lombard style, are the most important ones. The city tour goes on with the Castello visconteo<\/em><\/strong>, a building with a square plan, four towers and a wide moat, is now the location of the civic museum with evidences of Roman age, sculptures of Longboard age and the art gallery. There is also the famous covered bridge<\/strong>, a remake of the fourteenth-century structure which was destroyed during the Second World War; it leads to the Borgo Ticino<\/em> (Ticino Village) where there is the church of Santa Maria in Betlem.<\/em><\/p>\n Between Pavia and Milan, the majestic marble complex of the Carthusian convent was built in the Fourteenth century commissioned by Gian Galeazzo Visconti.<\/p>\n The Certosa of Pavia<\/em><\/strong> was completed a century later with the construction of the church; it is a place where the atmosphere of concentration and the preciousness of art rule. Soon at the entrance, the carved marble door prepares the visitor for the nobility through which the site was conceived; inside it, there is the palazzo Ducale<\/em>, where famous guests are located. Il centro storico \u00e8 la parte pi\u00f9 interessante, che si trova alla sommit\u00e0 del monte, con tutte le villette pi\u00f9 nuove che scendono verso la valle.<\/p>\r\n Una cosa che rende molto bella Valenza<\/strong><\/em>, un paese inserito fra colli e montagne, \u00e8 un grande complesso termale molto esclusivo e particolarmente accogliente. Prima comunque di visitare questo centro termale, \u00e8 consigliabile visitare il centro, scoprendo i tanti piccoli gioielli che Monte Valenza <\/strong><\/em>pu\u00f2 offrire. Nel centro di questa cittadina, si trova la piccola chiesa di Sant\u2019Eusebio, circondata da alberi nella piazzola, e decorata da belle fontane e da aiuole variopinte. Cascine antiche<\/strong>, castelli medievali<\/strong>, possenti torrioni,<\/strong> pievi<\/strong>, chiese<\/strong> e abbazie<\/strong> di epoche remote sono l\u2019immortale traccia dell\u2019insediamento umano attraverso i secoli. I tre grandi fiumi che ne segnano i confini (Po, Sesia e Ticino) insieme ad un\u2019infinit\u00e0 di canali, corsi d\u2019acqua, rogge, sorgive e torrenti alimentano una natura straordinariamente rigogliosa, con ampie fasce di bosco che costeggiano i corsi d\u2019acqua principali.<\/p>\r\n Da visitare, il poderoso castello di Sartirana<\/strong>, magnifica opera difensiva dotata di un grande torrione realizzato su tre differenti volumetrie: poliedro, cilindro e parallelepipedo. Curiosit\u00e0: l\u2019architetto che progett\u00f2 questo edificio, Bartolomeo Fioravanti, fu uno dei progettisti del Palazzo del Cremlino a Mosca<\/strong> e del Castello Sforzesco di Milano<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n Nella cittadina medievale di Breme \u00e8 visitabile la splendida abbazia<\/strong>, con la cripta<\/strong> sottostante.<\/p>\r\n A Lomello<\/strong>, antico centro caro ai re longobardi<\/strong> che da il nome a tutto il territorio, si trova la magnifica basilica\u00a0 medievale di Santa Maria Maggiore<\/strong>, uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti esempi di romanico lombardo. A poche decine di metri il castello di Lomello ospita oggi la sede del Comune.<\/p>\r\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\"][et_pb_divider admin_label=\"Modulo Separatore\" color=\"#cc8b4f\" show_divider=\"on\" height=\"50\" divider_style=\"solid\" divider_position=\"top\" hide_on_mobile=\"on\"] [\/et_pb_divider][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\"][et_pb_text admin_label=\"Testo - Garzaie Lomellina\" background_layout=\"light\" text_orientation=\"left\" use_border_color=\"off\" border_color=\"#ffffff\" border_style=\"solid\"]\r\n Le Garzaie di Lomellina<\/strong> sono un\u2019ampia zona risicola, nuclei residui di un'antica foresta planiziale che rappresentano piccoli polmoni naturali ricchi di biodiversit\u00e0<\/strong>. Gi\u00e0 a partire dagli anni \u201980 la necessit\u00e0 di preservare queste zone boschive ha spinto le istituzioni a renderle zone protette in cui \u00e8 possibile\u00a0tornare indietro nel tempo, prima dell\u2019avvento dei Romani e delle bonifiche<\/strong>, di ritrovare l\u2019origine del territorio.<\/p>\r\n I sentieri recentemente ripristinati si snodano attraverso i vari habitat: i fitti canneti alternati ai nuclei di saliconi, le rogge alimentate dalle limpide acque di fontanile, i rigogliosi boschi di ontano nero.\u00a0L'escursione offre la possibilit\u00e0 di soffermarsi a guardare da vicino gli aironi intenti nella nidificazione e nell\u2019alimentazione dei pulcini.<\/p>\r\n Una visita guidata in garzaia si trasforma cos\u00ec in un\u2019esperienza ricca di ecologia, storia del territorio, etologia e la strana sensazione di essere immersi in un luogo completamente estraneo al contesto, dove anche i suoni sono diversi, fatti da grida e versi di migliaia di aironi.<\/p>\r\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\"][et_pb_gallery admin_label=\"Galleria\" gallery_ids=\"421,422,423,424\" fullwidth=\"off\" show_title_and_caption=\"off\" show_pagination=\"off\" background_layout=\"light\" auto=\"off\" hover_overlay_color=\"rgba(255,255,255,0.9)\" caption_all_caps=\"off\" use_border_color=\"off\" border_color=\"#ffffff\" border_style=\"solid\"] [\/et_pb_gallery][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\"][et_pb_divider admin_label=\"Modulo Separatore\" color=\"#cc8b4f\" show_divider=\"on\" height=\"50\" divider_style=\"solid\" divider_position=\"top\" hide_on_mobile=\"on\"] [\/et_pb_divider][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\"][et_pb_gallery admin_label=\"Galleria\" gallery_ids=\"412,411,409,410\" fullwidth=\"off\" show_title_and_caption=\"off\" show_pagination=\"off\" background_layout=\"light\" auto=\"off\" hover_overlay_color=\"rgba(255,255,255,0.9)\" caption_all_caps=\"off\" use_border_color=\"off\" border_color=\"#ffffff\" border_style=\"solid\"] [\/et_pb_gallery][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\"][et_pb_text admin_label=\"Testo - Vigevano\" background_layout=\"light\" text_orientation=\"left\" use_border_color=\"off\" border_color=\"#ffffff\" border_style=\"solid\"]\r\n A Vigevano<\/strong>, la Piazza Ducale<\/b> \u00e8 il\u00a0cuore rinascimentale della citt\u00e0 e luogo d'incontro dei vigevanesi, un rettangolo dalle proporzioni armoniose; circondato su tre lati da bassi edifici uniformi, con portici ad arcate sorretti da colonne di granito, chiuso ad oriente dalla facciata concava, barocca, della cattedrale di Sant'Ambrogio<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n Domina la piazza, l'imponente Torre del Castello <\/b>, detta anche Torre del Bramante<\/strong>, realizzata a volumi sovrapposti con due ordini di merlature ghibelline.\u00a0Il Castello di Vigevano<\/b> si erge nel punto pi\u00f9 alto della citt\u00e0; venne edificato da Luchino Visconti, signore di Milano, nella prima met\u00e0 del Trecento.\u00a0In epoca sforzesca, il castello venne ampliato e le sale furono affrescate; divenne una dimora sfarzosa, adatta ad ospitare la corte per lunghi soggiorni. Furono costruite le scuderie e la Loggia delle Dame <\/b>, quest'ultima per la duchessa Beatrice d'Este<\/strong>, la giovane moglie di Ludovico il Moro, morta poco pi\u00f9 che ventenne; furono eretti loggiati sulla Falconiera<\/b> e sul ponte che la congiungeva al castello.<\/p>\r\n Il Duomo<\/b> dedicato a Sant'Ambrogio, fu iniziato nel 1532 per volere di Francesco II Sforza, figlio di Ludovico il Moro, su disegno di Antonio da Lonate. L'attuale facciata barocca che ricopre la precedente, fu disegnata dal vescovo Juan de Caramuel Lobkovitz e venne realizzata intorno al 1680. La trasformazione attuata dal vescovo spagnolo comport\u00f2 anche l'abbattimento della quattrocentesca rampa d'accesso al castello situata ai piedi della torre.<\/p>\r\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\"][et_pb_divider admin_label=\"Modulo Separatore\" color=\"#cc8b4f\" show_divider=\"on\" height=\"50\" divider_style=\"solid\" divider_position=\"top\" hide_on_mobile=\"on\"] [\/et_pb_divider][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=\"Riga\"][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\"][et_pb_text admin_label=\"Testo - Pavia\" background_layout=\"light\" text_orientation=\"left\" use_border_color=\"off\" border_color=\"#ffffff\" border_style=\"solid\"]\r\n Pavia<\/strong> ha conservato del suo glorioso passato medieovale<\/strong>, quando fu uno dei centri pi\u00f9 importanti dell\u2019Italia settentrionale, numerosi monumenti. Delle splendide chiese la pi\u00f9 importante \u00e8 il Duomo con una delle cupole pi\u00f9 grandi d\u2019Italia e la Basilica di San Michele, capolavoro dello stile romanico lombardo.<\/p>\r\n La visita della citt\u00e0 prosegue con il Castello visconteo<\/strong>, un edificio a pianta quadrata con quattro torri e un largo fossato, oggi sede dei musei civici con reperti dell\u2019epoca romana e sculture di epoca longobarda e la pinacoteca.\u00a0Famoso il ponte coperto<\/strong>, rifacimento di una struttura trecentesca distrutta durante la seconda guerra mondiale, che conduce al Borgo Ticino dove si trova la chiesa di Santa Maria in Betlem.<\/p>\r\n Tra Pavia e Milano, il monumentale complesso marmoreo del convento dei Certosini nasce nel Trecento per volont\u00e0 di Gian Galeazzo Visconti. La Certosa di Pavia<\/strong> viene completata circa un secolo dopo con la costruzione della chiesa e resta un luogo dove regna l\u2019atmosfera di raccoglimento e la preziosit\u00e0 dell\u2019arte. Gi\u00e0 all\u2019ingresso la porta in marmo scolpito prepara il visitatore alla nobilt\u00e0 con cui era stato concepito il sito, al cui interno si trova, infatti, il palazzo Ducale, in cui alloggiare gli ospiti di prestigio.
